Medical BioNumerik offers a PPO Plan. Our medical benefits are available to all full-time employees with coverage beginning on the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
Also available is a prescription drug plan with most pharmacies in the greater San Antonio area and many nationwide pharmacies participating. Co-pays range from $10 - $50. A mail order service is available for maintenance drugs with discounted costs for participants.
BioNumerik currently pays the major portion of the medical premiums for employees. The employee pays for family coverage. Any amount of premiums paid by the employee is on a pre-tax basis with the Company’s Section 125 Plan.
Dental Dental benefits are available on the first of the month following date of hire. BioNumerik pays the costs of the employee’s portion of the premiums. The employee pays for family coverage. Employees may use any dentist they want on this plan. Any amount of premiums paid by the employee is on a pre-tax basis with the Company’s Section 125 Plan.
Life Insurance All full-time employees are provided life insurance at no cost for the amount of their annual salary, beginning on the first of the month following date of hire, subject to policy eligibility requirements. Additional life insurance is available if employees wish to purchase coverage for their spouses or children.
Long-Term Disability BioNumerik provides all full-time employees with a Long-Term Disability program for certain situations if the employee is unable to work for longer than 90 consecutive days. This program specifies that the employee receives 60% of his/her salary, up to a maximum of $10,000 per month. Employee disability payments will be considered salary replacement and taxable as income. The Company pays for this benefit, but employees may elect to pay the cost of this coverage by payroll deduction on an after-tax basis. If that option is elected, the disability benefits will be exempt from Federal Income Tax.
401(k) Plan All employees are eligible to enroll in the 401(k) Plan on the first day of the quarter following hire. Employees can defer up to 20% of annual income in twelve funds with varying returns managed by T. Rowe Price.
Vacation Full-time salaried employees receive three weeks of paid vacation per year. Full-time hourly employees receive two weeks of paid vacation per year. After five years of service, employees receive one additional week. Vacation is earned on a monthly basis.
Part-time employees receive vacation on a pro-rated basis depending upon number of hours worked.
BioNumerik encourages and expects our employees to take advantage of this leave time. If an employee’s vacation balance reaches 200 hours, the accrual will stop until the employee uses some vacation time.
Sick Leave All full-time employees receive six days of sick leave per year. This is accrued on a monthly basis and employees may let their balances build without limit.
Personal Leave All full-time employees are provided two personal days per year after one year’s service.
Holidays The Company provides a total of eight (8) holidays per year. They are: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after, and Christmas Day.
Fun Times BioNumerik knows the importance of working hard and also of having fun. We regularly sponsor time away from the office for Company celebrations.
Relocation Assistance BioNumerik provides relocation assistance to employees joining us from other areas.
Training BioNumerik provides regularly scheduled on-site training classes for our employees, including Health and Safety, computer skills training and personal financial planning.
The company also encourages additional professional training at offsite clinics, seminars and conferences and pays for local Continuing Education classes needed to keep professional certifications.
